Helena Cid

Helena is Head of Sales at HeartGenetics.
Helena Cid has a Degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Faculty of Nutrition and Food
Science, University of Porto.
She is Member of the Jurisdictional Council of the Order of Nutritionists and a Member of the
General Council of the Portuguese Cardiology Foundation. She is part of several Working
Groups of the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge.
Prior to working at HeartGenetics, Helena was a Head of Nutrition Department in the Food
Industry.
Helena had other positions as Coordinator of the Nutrition Committee and Member of the
Communication Group of the Federation of Portuguese Food Industries. Also, she had several
positions in the Portuguese Association of Nutritionists (current Portuguese Nutrition
Association) and she was a Member of the General Council in the Order of Nutritionists.
Helena was Co-author of the Epidemiological Study on the Characterization of the Lipid Profile
in the Portuguese Population and of projects as “Good Morning” 1 and 2, carried out in
partnership with Instituto Universitário Egas Moniz.
She had participated twice in the European Researchers’ Night organized by Pavilhão do
Conhecimento – Centro Ciência Viva presenting projects regarding nutrition.
Along her 25 years of experience, she gave presentations in countless scientific Congresses,
lectured nutrition master’s degrees, classes and seaminars in many Faculties of Nutrition and
Food Science. Helena was also part of a Master thesis committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy of
the University of Lisbon.
During her career, Helena was a Guest Nutritionist in TV programs and author of several
articles in the media.
Helena also published the book “Todos para a Mesa”. This book was distinguished by the
prestigious entity of the international literary world – Gourmand World and awarded as the
best book of the year in the category of Health and Nutrition.
