HeartGenetics has collaborated with the Portuguese Society of Hypertension on the PHYSA study – Portuguese Hypertension and Salt Study, by analysing the large study cohort for 16 genetic variants on 12 genes. The obtained results were presented at the 8th Portuguese Hypertension and Global Cardiovascular Risk Congress in Vilamoura. It was highligthed the influence of genetics markers on the risk of arterial hypertension development. It was refered that this knowledge will contribute to the identification of cases where there is an augmented risk for developing this pathology, and hence where a closer medical follow up and lifestyle changes are needed to prevent its early onset.
